While a lot of the Fallout 4 settlement mods focus on making settlements bigger and better, hifoo's Kamuro Neon mod is a little more niche.
It's one that's been built specifically for fans of the Yakuza series and aims to bring a little taste of the Japanese nightlife to the Boston wasteland. Installing the mod will add a number of neon signs to the workshop, all of which are designed to emulate the look and feel of the Kamurocho district from the Yakuza games. Even for those who've never played the titles, the neon glow they provide can completely change the look of a settlement and offers a nice option for those looking to mix things up a little.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of the Fallout series is the ability to scavenge a wide variety of unique items and weapons. Sadly though, the vanilla version of Fallout 4 offers very few options when it comes to players storing and displaying their bounty. SecretAgent99's Functional Displays mod aims to right this wrong. Once installed, it allows players to show off their weapons, armor and collectibles in a number of different ways.
There are wall-mounted pegboards, glass display cases and different types of shelves available, providing players with just about everything needed to show off their expert scavenging skills. Scrap Everything does what it says on the tin. Once installed, virtually every aspect of a settlement can be scrapped, making it far easier for players to start their settlements from scratch.
Granted, it can seem a little daunting at first, but it ultimately gives players far more control over the layouts of their settlements. Scrap houses, sidewalks, that once irremovable vegetation, nearly everything tied to a settlement can be removed to create more build space. It's incredibly easy to use too, although players should perhaps be careful as, once scrapped, things can't be easily restored. Most settlement objects that require power generate a large amount of noise. While this is fine when players are making a small settlement, creating multiple generators and turrets can give players a headache with how loud they are.
Quieter Settlements from mod author Lemures reduces the noise of these settlement items. I use this in every single build. Download this now! And they all snap! Incredible structure items! I've used this to build a whole island from scratch! I've used this for every build for years! Make sure workshop rearranged is below every other mod that adds items to your workshop. They go here in the load order, below Workshop Rearranged. I use it to fly around!
Decorate your own apartment! Download and fix it up! Cheat Terminal. USO Season Pass. USO Season Pas. Master Plan. Vanilla Extensions.
Snappy HouseKit. Snap'n Build. G2M Workshop. There are so many settlements with their own unique challenges that it hardly makes sense to single one out. By using this mod, you can give yourself a little more to work with, as it opens some of the nearby boarded-up apartments for use in the settlement.
Combine it with the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch , which among thousands of other things will also solve the AI pathing errors in this location. Or water, for that matter? A simple mod with a simple fix, Filled Brahmin Feed and Water Trough will make your settlements just slightly more immersive, by no longer forcing your cattle to eat air.
I may be in the minority here, but the limitations of the wiring and power options is really frustrating. If you need a precise wiring or lighting set-up, the ambient energy of the conduits often interferes by powering items that you may not need to be powered all the time, like certain traps and mechanisms in the Automaton and Contraptions DLC. Insulate them, and create cleaner power supply lines, with Insulated Power Conduits. One of the biggest bummers of Fallout 4 is the lack of a functional movie projector at Starlight Drive-In, a location that otherwise has a lot of potential for a themed settlement.
Use this and create yourself an authentic drive-in movie theater. In settlements without a major water source, use Water Anywhere. This mod makes it so you can place the water pumps even on dirt—and use the dirt pumps anywhere as well.
With the placement restrictions lifted, it should be much easier to get the hydration needs of your settlement met without sacrificing space.
Hate no more! The Nuka Cola Filling Machine mod adds a machine to the game that will let you fill up your empty bottles of Nuka Cola for the price of a mere mutfruit. Not only does that mean you get a never ending source of Nuka Cola, it also offers a lore-friendly way to explain why there are still so many bottles left in the Commonwealth, two hundred years after the bombs fell.
Given how buggy and insufficient the settler AI is in general, you may see the prospect of having more settlers as simply having more problems. Raiders and other attackers will target crops and water supplies so, if you can, make sure the number next to defence is higher than the sum of those next to food and water. Place your trap, then wire it up to a powered laser tripwire, and connect a terminal to the tripwire so you can set it to only trigger when a hostile steps through. You can also please your settlers by carrying out neverending Radiant quests tune in to Freedom Radio to find out if any settlements need your help and defending them if they come under attack.
You might need to connect some stairs so your settlers can reach the elevated side, but they usually snap into place quite nicely. Scattered across the Commonwealth are five issues of a magazine called Picket Fences, each of which unlocks a new kind of object for you to construct.
If you want to be able to populate your settlements with things like potted plants or patio furniture, keep an eye out. There are so many different kinds of magazines to collect that you may want to proudly display them in your chosen home. You may need to build more than one. Crops, guard posts, scavenging stations, and stores all require assigned settlers to work.
